What is Writer's Block?
You've been writing two or three times a week for the past few months, when all of a sudden, out of nowhere, it hits. Writer's block, with it's best friend, the inner hater that lives in all of us.
It starts innocently enough. What should I write about for tomorrow's post?
But it quickly escalates. Every blink of the cursor is somehow taunting you. You'll come up with an idea, and your inner hater will wake up. Nobody wants to read that, it will say. Or worse. Come on, that topic has been written about a hundred times. You have nothing new to contribute.
You'll despair. Maybe you'll look at a few other blogs like yours and realize your inner hater is right. That HAS been written before. Why are you even trying?
You're trying because you know the secret: there are who create, and those who criticize. You want to quiet down the biggest critic of all — you. The only way to avoid it is to power right on through it.
