We've talked at length about how images can make or break your blog post. I mean, really, when's the last time you saw something on Pinterest that was just a wall of text? Never. We've put together a massive list of free and royalty-free images for you to bookmark when you need something that will make your blog post pop. We've discussed attribution and the creative commons.
What we weren't expecting was that Google was going to make it really easy for us! Check out this new Google Images feature.
Usage Rights on Google Images
Let's say, for example, you're looking for a picture of happy kids (that's what I typed when I made the image above).
Step 1: Head to Google Images
Click here to get to Google Images if you don't already have the URL memorized.
Step 2: Type happy kids into the search
Or, you know, whatever you want to find.
Step 3: Do not get too attached to anything you see
These results are too broad. Let's narrow them down, shall we?
Step4: Click Search Tools–>Usage Rights–>Labeled for Reuse and Modification
As seen here:
Step5: Reuse, Modify, Share it on Social, then Get on With Your day
This will save you so much time when you're looking for a specific image. I still love the list of free images that you can modify too, when you're looking to evoke emotions, but if you're writing about the statue of liberty, using this subset of Google Images will get you what you want fast.
